about

Another crazy week lead to me spending the day I usually finish recording a demo writing a new one (I'm excited about the new track, will sound pretty different from what I've been uploading). Luckily I found this ol' gem from a few years ago so I still have something to post.

I think it's fair to say this fits nicely within the emo genre. I wrote and recorded this pretty quickly as an attempt at catharsis after a relationship ended. I actually really like this song's melodies and guitar, the vocals are rough as all get out but let's chalk that up to the pure emotional distress I was under. Or, if we're being realistic, it's probably because I didn't practice the parts enough times and figured "I'll never show this to anyone, it doesn't matter." Guess I was wrong. The lyrics are... well if you read them you'll see. Wish I had something fresh to post, this is good punishment.

Anyway, I think I'll make it a point to rerecord this one. See you next week!

lyrics

Fidgeting fingers wait anxious at the terminal
Breaking voices, they say so much more than we can tell
And the outlines around your eyes, they are unbearable.
And I know, we'll both be fine. But damn does this hurt like hell.

This surely is a hallmark moment, it took me ten whole months to blow it.
This milestone deserves a millstone, so wrap it around my throat.
